1: Troy Bank Can Never Be Bought Out
It should be a comfort to the First National Bank customers that Troy Bank will not, and in fact cannot, be bought out. Moreover, we’re the only bank of our kind in the US! Why is this?
Charles Henderson, Troy Bank & Trust founder, became the majority stockholder of TB&T, eventually owning 51.12%. At his death in 1937, pursuant to his will, Henderson created a Charitable Perpetual Trust and transferred his stock to Troy Bank & Trust as the Trustee. A stipulation in his will expressly states that the TB&T stock held in the Trust is never to be sold, thus ensuring that Troy Bank & Trust can never be purchased.
2: Both Banks Combined Offer New Locations, Maintaining Staff.
Troy Bank has 14 banking offices in Pike, Dale, Coffee, Houston, and Lee counties, including our main office in Troy. First National Bank operated offices in Brundidge and in Troy. So customers of both banks get to take advantage of the expanded footprint Troy Bank now offers. Not only is Troy Bank not closing any of the First National Bank branches, but we also don’t have any plans to make any drastic changes in personnel or locations for the foreseeable future.
So, if you’ve had your favorite teller or loan officer for years, never fear – they’re still around!
