When using your TB&T Visa® Debit Card as a signature-based purchase, think PEN, not PIN!
A signature-based transaction is just that - you are authorizing the purchase with your signature not your debit card PIN. Therefore, any purchase that requires your PIN will not count towards earning points for ScoreCard.
When I swipe my card, it automatically asks for my PIN?
When you swipe your debit card, most machines will recognize your card as being a debit card and will immediately ask you to enter your PIN. Simply hit CANCEL when it asks for your PIN and it will take you to a screen where you can select CREDIT. Once you select CREDIT, you will then be able to sign for your purchase, thus resulting in a signature-based purchase where you will earn points.
What does not count as a signature-based transaction?
Debit Card transactions that do not count include: ATM withdrawals and PIN-based Point-of-Sale.
Remember, purchases made with your PIN do NOT earn rewards.
If I select CREDIT, will this still be debited from my account as normal?
Yes, the amount of the purchase will be deducted from your available balance immediately. The purchase will post to your account within 2-3 business days
